Irancell and China negotiate over Iran’s cellular phone network development

TEHRAN - Iran’s second operator of cellular phone network and the Chinese company Hua are negotiating over the production of base station transceiver (BTS) and base station controller (BSC) systems.

Following the recent visit of an Iranian team of Hong Kong Communication Expo 2006, the delegation conducted a series of successful negotiations with the Chinese side on the joint cooperation aimed at establishing the BSC and BTS assembly lines in Iran, the managing director of Irancell Co. said on Sunday.

The two sides also agreed on the expansion of technical cooperation in manufacturing other communication products such as SBH systems that are widely used in the mobile phone network infrastructure as well as in the microwave links, the Persian service of ISNA news agency quoted him as saying.
