Obstacles for writing Persian SMSes to be eliminated

Tehran, Dec 6, Taliya News – Persian Text and Language Group of Supreme IT Council here Monday invited all real and legal entities interested in usage of Persian language SMSes to help to solve the obstacles in the way of sending such messages.Volume of the SMS messages sent in Iran has increased noticeably with the expansion of the country’s mobile phone networks and according to TCI statistics any Iranian subscriber sends two SMSes per day on the average that is an acceptable figure compared to respective world records.

Yet, some 90% of the SMSes are sent in “Pinglish” (Persian language scribed using English alphabet), which shows the extent of problems in usage of Persian language while using mobile sets.

Predicting the future status of Persian texts and language in future mobile phone systems and generations, proposed strategies, and a roadmap are among the parts of this report.

Interested individuals in contributing to the effort are invited to submit their proposals maximum by December 22, at least in five pages, inclusive of their full IDs and contact numbers to info@scict.ir email address.
