Batelco has commissioned a new international gateway based on iDirect VSAT technology as part of an expansion of its satellite-based corporate IP services. The new gateway, due to be completed by the end of December, is designed to enable Batelco clients in the Middle East to access new satellite services such as two-way broadband IP VSAT, satellite video conferencing, satellite VoIP telephony and corporate VPNs. Batelco provides satellite services to financial, government and corporate institutions in Bahrain and has partnered with Asian satellite services provider SpeedCast to enhance the provision of global connectivity to these sectors.
