VoIP Technology Drives Innovation In Iran

With UAE is in the verge of liberalizing VoIP services in the countries by allowing Du and Etisalat to offer their IP-based services, gulf countries are moving very fast for the spread of VoIP technology in the region. According to this source, the competition from scores of licensed VoIP firms is driving new uses of the application.

The Iranian VoIP operators are putting their resources in the virtual private networking sector to make big profits in the crowded market. Nearly 100 licensed companies are selling VoIP calling cards to consumers while other companies are targeting private companies and integrating their various remote office locations through VoIP.

Tehran-based Fardanesh, a general trading and telecom equipment and services firm has conducted a survey on VoIP application in Iran and found out that Virtual private networking for VoIP was the only field of service provision that we felt was reasonable, feasible and profitable.

According to Fardanesh, the mid-sized Iranian firms can be immensely benefited by adopting VoIP. They can reduce their phone bills by 80 percent by implementing VoIP technology.
